DeHuisVaderenZo grew step by step from a simple idea to do something with YouTube. Today music, Gaming, Shorts, several languages and our own websites come together, while the personal beginning remains an important part of the story.
The beginning
How YouTube started for us
It did not start with a grand plan. It started at home, with an idea and different opinions about it.
The idea to start with YouTube came from my son. He thought I should give it a try. At first my daughter thought it was nonsense, and my wife felt much the same. I started anyway, mainly because I enjoyed doing it and wanted to discover what it could grow into.
Today we look at the project differently at home. My daughter enjoys it now, and so does my wife. My wife simply does not want to appear on camera, and that choice is part of the story too. You do not have to be on camera to be part of DeHuisVaderenZo.
That change later became very concrete: my daughter made the entire song “Kijk Dit Doen Wij” herself. Read the story behind that song →
From that small beginning, more videos and ideas were added. Music became more important, a Gaming channel appeared, the Yes Yes Yes series grew with the milestones, and later other websites and projects followed. The network was not fixed from day one; many parts developed along the way.

Our direction
Growing in our own way
We are not aiming to become big as fast as possible. The most important thing is to keep enjoying what we make. We want to grow step by step through our own efforts, with our own story and a smile, without forgetting who we are.

Reaching 1K subscribers already felt truly special to me. I never expected the growth to continue toward 4K. Because we are not only chasing fast growth, it feels good to look back at everything that developed along the way.
Long-term project
Ik Abbo Je Terug

The idea for Ik Abbo Je Terug existed earlier, but we only started developing it seriously later. The channel has now reached around its first 100 subscribers. For me it is not a project that needs to be finished quickly; it is a long-term project.
I want to make more music for it and keep experimenting with different languages. That takes time, especially while I am also working on the other channels and websites. My goal is not to create as many separate things as possible, but to connect DeHuisVaderenZo, Gaming, Ik Abbo Je Terug, the music, the Shorts and the other projects more and more clearly.
